Get to know your advisor
I was born and raised in Iowa. I come from a family that is passionate about serving others, including a proud history of federal service. I joined the Army when I was seventeen and served for about six years prior to finding my passion in financial planning.
My wife and I live in Colorado and enjoy the outdoor activities this great state has to offer, and share an appreciation for comedy and a great sense of humor.
My friends and family would describe me as analytical, objective, and passionate about helping people.
I am social media shy (working on it) but am very approachable. Happy to get to know you!
When it comes to the Financial Services Industry, the alphabet soup can be confusing. However, my credentials provide a clear picture of my expertise and dedication. Here is a breakdown of the credentials I hold and why they matter:
CFP® (Certified Financial Planner™): This credential demonstrates my comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in areas such as financial planning, investments, retirement, and tax planning. It signifies my commitment to high ethical standards and the ability to provide holistic financial advice tailored to individual needs.
ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant®): As a ChFC®, I have advanced knowledge in various financial planning areas, including wealth accumulation, estate planning, and insurance. This credential showcases my expertise in providing strategic financial solutions and guidance to clients.
RICP® (Retirement Income Certified Professional®): The RICP® designation signifies my specialized knowledge in retirement income planning. It showcases my ability to help clients develop sustainable retirement strategies, manage risks, and optimize their retirement income streams.
EA (Enrolled Agent): Holding the EA credential means that I am authorized by the IRS to represent taxpayers and provide tax-related services. It demonstrates my expertise in tax planning, compliance, and representation, allowing me to navigate complex tax issues and help clients make informed decisions.
In addition to these credentials, I also hold an MBA from an AACSB-accredited institution. This indicates that I have received a high-quality business education, further enhancing my knowledge and skills in finance, management, and strategic decision-making.
These credentials matter because they reflect my dedication to professional development, adherence to rigorous standards, and ongoing commitment to serving clients with integrity and expertise. They provide you with the assurance that I have the knowledge and qualifications to navigate the complexities of the Financial Services Industry and provide you with valuable financial advice and solutions.
I (sarcastically) like to say that I started a company because I was angry. I wanted to present an accurate brand.
Why the name “Forward”? Well, we believe in always addressing the next steps. Our name is a clear reflection of our commitment to guiding you forward on your financial journey instead of focusing on what has already happened. We’re here to bring clarity to your financial decisions.
But why “Financial Planning” specifically? We want to emphasize that we are more than just investment or insurance advisors. While investments and insurance play crucial roles, they are components of your overall plan, not the plan itself. With our expertise and comprehensive approach, we ensure that all aspects of your financial well-being are taken into account.
Now, you may wonder why I jokingly say I started this company because I was angry. It’s not anger, but rather excitement and passion that fuel my dedication to these topics. When you engage with Forward Financial Planning, you benefit from my genuine enthusiasm and unwavering commitment to your financial success.
While that concept may not truly exist in any industry, at Forward Financial Planning, we embrace the philosophy that “it’s all connected.” We understand the value of simple communication and collaboration between your financial professionals to enhance your overall client experience.
We gladly work with your existing financial services professionals to improve your financial plan. This doesn’t mean you are limited to speaking only with the members associated with your plan. Instead, it means we strive for seamless coordination and alignment among all parties involved.
Already have trusted tax professionals, accountants, or insurance providers? Fantastic! Let’s collaborate and work together for your benefit. We value the expertise they bring to the table and aim to integrate their services into a comprehensive strategy tailored to your needs.
